Center for Anatomy - University Cologne
Dear colleagues, The OTC elbow course has been running for over 10 years and has become a staple in our course offerings. During this time, it has been continuously developed to ensure the topics covered remain current. This year, the course will again be offered in a hybrid format. You can attend engaging lectures at your own pace. On-site, you will work in small groups with ample time for dissection and ORIF on human specimens.Complex injuries of the upper extremity require in-depth examination within their functional context, even though the full extent of the pathology often only becomes clear during reconstruction. We aim to convey the individuality of injuries, their tailored resolution, and especially their practical application to like-minded surgeons in a close-knit team setting. Demanding osteosynthesis and the restoration of ligamentous integrity are not presented in isolation, but rather developed from topographical and functional anatomy, exploring the various surgical approaches. Based on the needs of previous courses, fracture-dislocations of the forearm, the distal radioulnar joint, and the triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) have been incorporated into the program as part of the complex of elbow injuries. Endoprosthetics is also included, reflecting the severity of the injuries. We look forward to welcoming you to Cologne. Lars Müller and Frank Schröder Scientific Directors
